Grade Sheet Explained


We are constantly asked what the grades mean on the auction sheets as it can be very unclear to people who are first starting out looking into importing cars. So here is a breakdown of all the possible grades that can be received.

Exterior Condition

  • 6 – This is a brand new car
  • 5 – The car is new, but used.
  • 4.5 – The car is EXCELLENT, may have a minor mark or so.
  • 4 – Again, the car is in an Excellent Condition. May have a few minor marks
  • 3.5 – The car will have a few minor marks
  • 3 – The car will have noticeable marks.
  • 2 – The car will be in a poor condition.
  • 1 – The car will be in a very bad condition.
  • R/RA – The car will have accident or repair history.
Heavily Modified Cars:
Heavily modified cars may be classed as a “m” (e.g. m3/m4).

Interior Condition

  • A - New or near new condition.
  • B - Minor repairs are not necessary. Very clean interior.
  • C – Small repairs required. e.g.
    • Worn patches, tears, cigarette burn, visible open screw holes, dashboard warping, and/or dashboard has some small tears.
    • The interior is dirty and needs to be cleaned.
  • D - Repairs are required. e.g.
    • Several cigarette burn marks in the interior.
    • Dashboard has a major warp.
    • The interior is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Some dirty patches will remain after cleaning.
  • E - Major repairs are required. e.g.
    • The dashboard has major tears.
    • The interior is very dirty and has some major tears. The interior is flattened.
    • The interior has a bad smell.

  • AC - Air conditioner
  • FA/AT - Automatic transmission
  • F5 - Manual (5-speed) transmission
  • PS - Power steering
  • SR - Sunroof
  • AW - Original alloy wheels
  • NAVI - Navigator
  • AAC - Climate control air conditioner
  • CA - Column automatic transmission
  • F6 - Manual (6-speed) transmission
  • PW - Power windows
  • TV - Television
  • KAWA - Leather seats
  • AIRBAGU - Airbag
  • A1 - Small Scratch
  • A2 - Scratch
  • A3 - Big Scratch
  • B - Dent with scratch
  • E1 - Few Dimples
  • E2 - Several Dimples
  • E3 - Many Dimples
  • U1 - Small Dent
  • U2 - Dent
  • U3 - Big Dent
  • W1 - Repair Mark/Wave (hardly detectable)
  • W2 - Repair Mark/Wave
  • W3 - Obvious Repair Mark/Wave (needs to be repainted)
  • S1 - Rust
  • S2 - Heavy Rust
  • C1 - Corrosion
  • C2 - Heavy Corrosion
  • P - Paint marked
  • H - Paint faded
  • X - Need to be replaced
  • XX - Replaced
  • B1 - Distortion on (radiator) core support or back panel (approximately size of a thumb)
  • B2 - Big Distortion on (radiator) core support or back panel
  • Y1 - Small Hole or Crack
  • Y2 - Hole or Crack
  • Y3 - Big Hole or Crack
  • X1 - Small Crack on Windshield (approximately 1cm)
  • R - Repaired Crack on Windshield
  • RX - Repaired Crack on Windshield (needs to be replaced)
  • X - Crack on Windshield (needs to be replaced)
  • G - Stone chip in glass
